About this guide
This site is an independent guide to legitimate free video streaming websites. It exists for one reason: too many people looking for free movies end up on piracy sites because they don't know the legal options exist.
The truth is, there's a whole industry of licensed free streaming — services like Tubi, Pluto TV, and the Roku Channel that pay studios for their catalogs and keep the lights on with ads, plus library-backed services like Kanopy and Hoopla that stream ad-free to cardholders. These services are real, they're legal, and most of them don't even require an account. We think more people should know about them.
What we cover
Every service listed here meets three tests: it's legal (licensed content, real company behind it), it's free (no payment required, ever), and it works in a web browser. We describe what each service is, what to watch there, who owns it, whether it runs ads, and whether you'll need an account. We also cover how to spot illegal streaming sites, because knowing what to avoid is half the battle.
We update the guide as services change — catalogs rotate, ownership changes hands, new services launch. Streaming moves fast, and a guide that goes stale isn't much use.
How we're funded
This is an informational site. We're not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any streaming service named here — not YouTube, Tubi, Pluto TV, Plex, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Roku, Crackle, Kanopy, Hoopla, or their parent companies. Service names and trademarks belong to their respective owners, and we reference them only to describe what they offer.
Corrections and suggestions
If you spot an error, a dead link, or a legitimate free service we've missed, we'd genuinely like to hear about it. Head to the contact page to flag it through the community discussions — reader tips are how this guide stays accurate.
